Thousands of athletes took on the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 North Carolina course in Wilmington on Saturday, Oct. 25, the 16th edition of the race.
Out of a field of 2,664 athletes, AJ Tucker earned the race's fastest overall time, completing the 70.3-mile course in 4 hours, 6 minutes, 49 seconds. The Atlanta, Georgia, resident posted the second-fastest run split of the day, finishing the 13.1-mile segment in 1:14:57.
Tucker finished more than three minutes ahead of Alden Basmajian, whose 4:09:11 mark was good for second place. Raleigh's Van Fletcher placed third in 4:09:16.
Charleston, South Carolina's Kayla Edwards won the women's race in 4:36:08, edging Jenifer Suverkrup of Indiana (second, 4:37:10) and Raleigh's Lucille Tasker (third, 4:38:00).
