Shillong, Oct 25: The Jaintia National Council (JNC), Western Zone, has lodged a complaint against the contractor for alleged substandard construction of the 21 km PMGSY road from Raliang to Sahsniang village.

The complaint was submitted to the Executive Engineer of the Shangpung PWD Division, K Pakma, today after the council conducted an inspection of the road and found that it had been damaged during construction.

President Hamehi Bamon said that this is not an isolated incident, as the council had previously identified similar issues with the road from Raliang to Laskein in May this year.

Bamon expressed frustration with the contractor’s actions, stating that they showed a blatant disregard for the community’s rights.
