Khal and Joe Shawabkeh are passionate about keeping the Wild West alive.

The brothers, who own Last Rodeo Western Wear on Mill Avenue in Tempe, specialize in any material for boots and apparel — from crocodile to ostrich and materials in between.

“It’s the culture of Arizona, there were cowboys and easterners that came here and there’s a lot of students who come from all over the world to study abroad at ASU,” Kal said.

The brothers grew up in the west coming from Texas and Arizona before landing in Tempe. They were inspired by the movie “Last Rodeo” as the namesake for the store they opened a month ago.

What they have found is a market near ASU that not only features those who grew up in that Western culture but those who are drawn to it from around the U.S. and around the world.
