AUSTIN, Texas — Police are investigating after a body was found in Lady Bird Lake in Downtown Austin on Saturday morning.

According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded to reports of a person in the lake near West Cesar Chavez and San Antonio streets around 10:30 a.m.

An adult was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said they are very early into the investigation and the victim has not been identified yet.

The incident is not related to a shooting that happened nearby at the Austin Public Library . It is not known if it is related to a water rescue that happened early Saturday morning where a victim was swept away.

No other details are available at this time.
