WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – Rutgers football’s losing streak is over and it finally has a Big Ten win this season.

Jai Patel kicked a 30-yard field goal with two seconds remaining to send the Scarlet Knights to a 27-24 victory over Purdue on Oct. 22 at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The win snapped Rutgers’ four-game skid.

KJ Duff had a tremendous game, finishing with six catches for 241 yards and a touchdown (it was a 72-yard score).

Duff was the first Scarlet Knights receiver to have at least 200 receiving yards in a game since Brandon Coleman in 2011.

Rutgers needed this performance. Badly.

It also needed this win. Badly.

A loss would’ve basically ended any chances of Rutgers earning bowl eligibility. This was one of the most winnable– if not the most winnable – games remaining on the schedul
