On Saturday at 3:50 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement until 4:30 p.m. for Oregon Lower Treasure Valley and Malheur County.
Residents should prepare for wind gusts of up to 55 mph.
“At 3:49 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a gust front near Freezeout Mountain, or 30 miles west of Parma, moving northeast at 55 mph,” says the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Areas of blowing dust reducing visibility.”
