COLUMBIA, S.C. —
Germie Bernard scored twice in the fourth quarter, running for the go-ahead 25-yard touchdown with 34 seconds remaining, and No. 4 Alabama (7-1, 5-0 SEC) scored 14 unanswered in the final frame to survive South Carolina (3-5, 1-5 SEC) at Williams-Brice Stadium, 29-22 and hand Shane Beamer's ballclub another gutting SEC defeat.
The Gamecocks, who led 22-14 with 10 minutes remaining, have lost three straight and five of their six conference games this year.
South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers scored two touchdowns, throwing for 213 yards and running for 67, including his fourth-quarter scamper that extended the Gamecocks' lead before Alabama's late rally.
But with the game tied at 22 and less than two minutes remaining in the game, Deontae Lawson ripped the ball
