KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Vandals broke into Kansas City’s historic Folly Theater overnight Thursday into Friday morning, causing an estimated $300,000 in damage to the century-old cultural landmark.
Police discovered the break-in early Friday morning.
The vandals destroyed every monitor in the main lobby and shattered bar glasses throughout the theater.
“We’re still trying to figure out the magnitude of everything that happened. But at first glance, it was just shocking,” said Cassidy Manetta, marketing manager for the theater.
The vandals grabbed fire extinguishers and sprayed white foam across the iconic stage. The orchestra level seats are covered in residue from the fire extinguisher discharge.
