TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - It was a happy homecoming for the Valdosta State football team, as the Blazers handled North Greenville 35-24 to snap a three game skid.

Jameson Holcomb was 17-23 for the Blazers, throwing for 179 yards and one touchdown in the win.

Eric Watts led the way on the ground for the Blazers with four carries for 61 yards and two touchdowns. The Trailblazers pulled within nine in the fourth quarter, but were unable to get any closer, sealing up the much needed victory for the Blazers.

“Was really proud of the way we came out and played today,” said head coach Graham Craig. “Didn’t even take advantage of every opportunity there in the first half, but proud of both sides of the ball and special teams. Overall good performance we can build on moving forward.”
