DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Thousands flocked to North Carolina Central University on Saturday for homecoming as the university implemented some security changes ahead of this year's celebrations.
The Eagles' 35-26 loss to Delaware State did not dampen the energy and excitement for homecoming, which many current and former students refer to as a family reunion.
"Homecoming means the greatest four years of your life that we are able to reflect on (with) friends, family," said Chelsea Ray, an NCCU Class of 2005 alum.
This year's celebrations soared with Eagle Pride.
"People come from all over the country to Durham, North Carolina, every year to celebrate our homecoming," said NCCU senior Zion Tyson.
