EAST LANSING — Bryce Underwood experienced his first taste as a player of the vicious rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State football .

And he came out as a victor.

Underwood, an 18-year-old true freshman and No. 1 recruit in the nation in the 2025 class, made his eighth collegiate start for the Wolverines , scored the game's first touchdown and while he didn't shine, he did enough to help Michigan survive an upset bid, 31-20 , on Saturday, Oct. 25.
