LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A familiar face has officially joined Eyewitness News as its newest anchor -- welcome Liz Nagy!

Liz comes to us from our Chicago sister station, WLS, but she has been to Southern California before, helping ABC7 cover the devastating wildfires back in January.

Jory Rand: "In addition to our fire coverage, did you learn anything about the people of L.A. you maybe didn't know before?

Liz: "It was something that affected two very different communities, but everybody here seemed to embrace all of that and really come together."

One of the things she's most looking forward to is the weather.

"Loving the sunshine... I got out just in time, right when the weather was starting to change. I was like that's it! We're going west!"
