NUTBUSH, Tenn. - A man was arrested and is accused of trying to run over an officer and leading police on a pursuit in Nutbush on Wednesday, court records show.
28-year-old Luis Gonzalez was charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault on a first responder and evading arrest.
On Wednesday, October 22, officers were conducting a traffic stop on a 2011 Honda Civic. When officers went to the driver's side of the car, the driver, Gonzalez, sped off at a high rate of speed, but officers didn't chase the car, police said.
The next day, officers tried to stop a black 2007 Toyota Yaris when they noticed the driver was the same person who fled the scene in the Honda Civic the day before. The Toyota also had a fraudulent drive-out tag, police said.
