'Very confused' migrant Kebatu was repeatedly told 'go' as he tried to return View Image

An asylum seeker who was mistakenly released from prison returned in a “very confused state” several times in a 90-minute period before staff sent him away to a railway station. Ethiopian national Hadush Kebatu was jailed for 12 months in September for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Epping and was freed from HMP Chelmsford instead of being sent to an immigration detention centre.

The search for the asylum seeker mistakenly released from prison has entered its third day as police revealed where he was last seen. The Metropolitan Police, which is leading the manhunt, said Kebatu was last seen in Hackney, east London, just before 8pm on Friday.
