Heartbroken dog owners have spoken of their loss after the owner of a dangerous dog who killed their pet was sentenced earlier this week.

Terry and Maria Hunton had stopped at Tesco Extra in Bidston on Wednesday, June 11, as they prepared for a weekend trip to Norwich to celebrate Terry's brother's 70th birthday, they told the Echo.

While Maria went inside to shop, Terry stayed outside with their 13-year-old dog, Buddy, a small West Highland terrier.
