Two suspects have been arrested over the seven-minute Louvre Museum robbery which saw eight of France's priceless crown jewels stolen.

One of the suspects was reportedly caught at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport while attempting to board flight days after the broad daylight heist which saw a gang make off with £76 million worth of jewellery. According to local reports, the suspected robber was trying to get on a flight to Algeria. The Louvre was forced into lockdown on Sunday morning moments after the gang, clad in high-vis vests, used a mechanical ladder on the back of a lorry to lift them to a first-floor balcony - where they smashed through a window of the Galerie d'Apollon using power tools, before fleeing on scooters.
