Major Louvre jewels robbery update after raid that rocked France View Image

Two men have reportedly been arrested in connection with the audacious raid on the Louvre museum in Paris. Le Parisien newspaper has reported that one was preparing to board a flight from Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The paper says that the men were from the Parisian suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis. Items worth £76m were taken in the raid, which saw four thieves with power tools break in before threatening guards.

The daylight crown jewel heist happened last Sunday at the world’s most-visited museum. The thieves who carried out the raid made off with eight pieces from France’s Crown Jewels.
