Gymnast Kate McDonald admits she made "massive mistakes" leading into the World Championships.
But after finishing fifth in the uneven bars final with a career-high score, she feels "stoked".
McDonald scored a 14.166 in Friday's final, where seven of the eight competitors achieved scores of more than 14.000.
The result came after she secured a gold in the uneven bars at the World Cup series in Qatar and a bronze in Croatia.
But she wasn't content with her World Cup performances, and even after achieving a career-best result in Indonesia, she's aiming higher.
"The first couple of competitions post-Olympics were a little bit rough. I've had a couple of competitions (Qatar and Croatia) where I made some massive mistakes," McDonald told AAP.
