Fast food giant McDonald's has been given permission to serve hot food and drinks until midnight at a new Stockton branch.
The chain needed a licence for the new restaurant on Yarm Road, Stockton to serve "late night refreshment" between 11pm and midnight seven days a week, matching its opening hours. Stockton Council's licensing sub-committee met to consider and decide this yesterday afternoon (Thursday, October 23).
Richard Wormald, representing McDonald's in the hearing at Thornaby's Dunedin House, said it was an "extremely modest" request for a site due to open on November 5: "All that's required is the hour between 11 and midnight to serve hot food and beverages.
"The hour between 11 and 12 is the most modest kind of application. Experience shows that attracts no kinds of issue
