A joint federal, state, and county focus on missing children resulted with five arrests and the “safe location and recoveries” of youth between the ages of 13 and 18 last weekend, according to the Hawaii Department of the Attorney General.
During the operation, one adult was arrested for violating a temporary restraining order, three juveniles were picked up on warrants, and one adult was arrested on a traffic warrant, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
“The operation’s primary objectives were to recover endangered missing children and youth reported as “runaways” across Oahu, provide them with essential services and care — and to deter bad actors from victimizing missing children,’ read a statement from state officials.
