Kapalua Golf announced on Wednesday its Plantation Course will be open to the public in November. But The Sentry tournament still won’t be played there in January — or anywhere at all in 2026, which was also announced Wednesday, by the PGA Tour and Sentry Insurance.
“We are excited to announce that the Kapalua Plantation Course will re-open for play on November 10, 2025! Guests will be able to book November tee times starting (today) at 7:30am HST,” according to the golfatkapalua.com website.
Due to drought conditions on Maui and other “logistical challenges” the Tour announced Sept. 16 that The Sentry would not be played at Kapalua. Wednesday’s news release that The Sentry will not be played anywhere in 2026 makes the Sony Open in Hawaii at Waialae Country Club on Jan. 12-18 the opening
