Trains suspended between Exeter and Barnstaple after car hit at level

All trains between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple have been cancelled after a train collided with a vehicle at a level-crossing.

The incident is understood to have been a 'minor collision' at the Umberleigh level crossing in which nobody was injured.

The line will be closed until approximately 12:45pm while emergency services clear the scene, according to National Rail.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said it was "very, very fortunate" nothing more serious had happened.
