After an offseason in which coach Dennis Gates emphasized his desire to see his team excel from beyond the arc, it was the Tigers' bigs that stole the show. Mizzou racked up 54 points in the paint on 54.8% shooting from the field, showing the versatility that size can bring to this offense.
"The points off turnovers were there, but being able to score in the paint how we did, 50 points, and then you add the free-throw attempts," Gates said, "that's a tough recipe to beat, especially when you're playing in the SEC."
