A pedestrian is dead Oct. 26 after they were struck by a vehicle in Okolona, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Matt Sanders said.

Officers responded to a report of a crash at 12:15 a.m. on Preston Highway and Industrial Boulevard, Sanders said. Upon arrival, officers found an injured pedestrian in a wheelchair and an unoccupied vehicle nearby. The pedestrian, who has not been publicly identified by officials, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Officers at the scene believe whoever was inside the vehicle at the time of the collision left the area on foot before police arrived, Sanders said. Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to share details to LMPD's tip line at 502-574-5673.
