The Election Commission will announce the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in several states on Monday. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, will hold a press conference at 4.15 pm, officials said Sunday.

According to an Indian Express report, the EC’s media invite did not mention the topic but sources confirmed the briefing will focus on the SIR schedule, expected to start on November 1. The revision is likely to cover five states with upcoming Assembly elections in 2026, namely Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
