JASPER COUNTY, Texas — The Jasper County Sheriff's Office regained phone and internet service this morning after losing communications for nearly 11 hours during storms that moved through Southeast Texas.
Sheriff Chuck Havard told 12News the lines came back up at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The department had lost all phone and internet service at 9:36 p.m. on Saturday as showers and thunderstorms moved through the region.
During the outage, Sheriff Havard directed residents to call 911 for all emergencies.
The storms caused widespread power disruptions across the region. As of this morning, outages include:
Hardin County: 248
Jefferson County: 264
Orange County: 76
Tyler County: 87
