GROVES, Texas — Two suspects are in custody following an early Sunday morning shooting that left one person in critical condition, according to Groves City Marshal Chris Robin.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 3800 block of Lay Avenue at around 2:50 a.m. Sunday. They found a victim with a gunshot wound to the head and began life-saving measures until EMS arrived.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.
Two suspects, Brian Herrera-Gonzalez, 21, and a juvenile, had left the scene before police arrived, according to Robin. Officers collected evidence at the location of the shooting.
Detectives traced the suspects to a Port Arthur residence, where they arrested Herrera-Gonzalez and one juvenile without incident.
