JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick, working with Southeast Texas Emergency Services Districts and fire chiefs, has lifted the burn ban for Jefferson County.
Residents are encouraged to continue using caution when burning and to follow all local fire safety regulations, according to Verenice Rosales, director of HR & Risk Management/Public Information Officer.
A burn ban had been extended for all unincorporated areas of Jefferson County following a declaration by Jefferson County Judge Branick. The order came as extremely dry weather and elevated fire danger raised concerns about the potential for wildfires.
