BEECH GROVE, Texas — Another storm brought another round of fallen trees to Jasper County late Saturday night, prompting multiple emergency responses from the Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
At around 10 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to U.S. Highway 190, just west of County Road 138, after a dead pine tree fell across the entire roadway. Officials said an 18-wheeler struck the fallen tree, causing damage to the truck and leaving a portion of the trunk wedged beneath its fuel tank and drive axles.
Firefighters were able to cut away part of the tree, but the remainder was stuck tightly beneath the vehicle. The driver managed to pull safely onto the shoulder before help arrived. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office were notified, and state
