After recent storms, Nags Head provides oceanfront update

Shortly before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, The Town of Nags Head posted this information about the impact of recent storms on the oceanfront.
Based on recent visual surveys, some sections of the dune line, such as those at the very southern end of town, show some scarping and recession of the dune. This is also present in sections of the beach between the Village at Nags Head and Jennette’s Pier. In large part, these conditions are isolated, and the visible beach remains stable with no major dune breaches observed.
