Even after a fortnight after the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon, Gujarat will continue to receive rainfall as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an orange alert for Amreli and Gir Somnath districts.

The post monsoon activity – due to a depression and a trough over the Arabian Sea – is expected to bring more rainfall till October 30.

The Southwest monsoon had withdrawn completely from Gujarat on October 10. But the development of the cyclonic system in the Arabian Sea prior to Shakti delayed its exit.

The normal onset of withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from Gujarat was around September 15, and the complete withdrawal date was October 5, according to IMD.
