Veolia has issued a boil water advisory for residents in the areas of Christiana, Brookside, Bear and New Castle after a break Oct. 25 on a large transmission main that resulted in low-water pressure in the system.

Veolia said while water quality was not impacted, customers in the affected area experienced low to no water pressure during this time. The boil water advisory was issued to safeguard against any potential water quality issues that might arise during repair work. The advisory covers approximately 50,000 customers.
