A deadly shooting at Lincoln University left students scrambling for information as the campus was put on lockdown.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday and campus was on lockdown until around 1 a.m., but students interviewed by PennLive said the first notification of a lockdown they received from campus officials came in an email notifying them it had been lifted about 1:30 a.m.

The University does have an emergency dispatch alert system that students can sign up for, but several students told PennLive they didn’t get any emails or texts about the shooting from the university.
