JULIETTE, Ga. — This weekend in Monroe County, Juliette hosted its 20th annual Fried Green Tomato Festival.
More than 60 vendors lined the streets, showcasing arts and crafts, local eats, nonprofit causes, and hometown goods.
Crowds gathered to watch a blacksmith at work, a spinning wheel whirring, and to soak in the small-town charm that makes Juliette special.
Live music filled the air from the Opry House porch, with performances by The Frogs of Calabash and Tres Hombres.
The festival celebrates the iconic dish that’s been a town favorite since the 1991 movie Fried Green Tomatoes.
“It just gives everybody a unique opportunity to see how a small, almost ghost town comes back to life," Denise Frazier, owner of Southern Grace Wine and Gifts said. "That way, we get to tell the stories
