Every October, pink ribbons remind us of the fight against breast cancer. That fight has saved countless lives thanks to early detection and improved treatment. But, for too many women, the first sign of breast cancer is still a lump found too late. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have the opportunity and responsibility to change that.
Breast cancer affects every family in some way. According to the American Cancer Society, Nevada will see more than 17,000 new cancer diagnoses in 2025 alone. Additionally, the American Cancer Society estimates 2,760 Nevadans will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025 and 440 will die of the disease.
