Amanda Brooks got inspired as a Vanderbilt student during College GameDay in 2008.
She eventually landed a job at ESPN and now keeps College GameDay running smoothly behind the scenes.
When "College GameDay" came to Vanderbilt in 2008, Amanda Brooks was in her fifth week as a divinity school student.
"I loved it, but I was starting to think maybe this isn't the path for me," she said.
Along with pursuing her master's in theological studies and ethics, she was working in communications for the university's athletic department. She got to help out during the 2008 show.
"I was looking for a sign, literally and figuratively," she said. "Getting to work the show was what made me realize I wanted to work in sports the rest of my life."
