A small group of toy restorers is on a mission to divert mountains of soft toys from landfill.
Homeless Huggables in Sydney was founded by Olivia Johnson, starting as a small operation she was running on her own in markets around where she lives.
"I've been doing Homeless Huggables for a while in a less formal way, just working with my local community, trying to get to every home and reshare the toys around," Ms Johnson said.
"And more recently, I decided that I wanted to try and make it a little bit more professional. So I went digital, [and] got the website up and running."
Since launching online through web and social media a few months ago, Ms Johnson's operation has grown to include three workers - a head restorer, a 'digital guru', and herself.
