NORTH HAMPTON — A Rhode Island man was hospitalized Sunday morning after the box truck he was driving veered off Interstate 95 and crashed into trees, prompting a multi-agency emergency response and a five-hour lane closure.
New Hampshire State Police received reports at 9:29 a.m. on Oct. 26 of a large box truck that had gone off the southbound side of I-95 in North Hampton. State police said preliminary findings indicate the truck, a 2014 Freightliner M2, abruptly turned right for unknown reasons, traveled roughly 50 feet down an embankment, and collided with trees.
The driver, a 42-year-old man from Providence, Rhode Island, was trapped inside the cab following the crash, according to police.
