The Employment Security Department of Washington State is hosting a second virtual event for workers affected by the government shutdown on Thursday.

The free 90-minute webinar will take place on October 30 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and cover a variety of topics to help federally-funded state workers facing furloughs and layoffs.

Attendees will hear from Employment Security Department (ESD) officials about how to apply for unemployment benefits, what to do about healthcare during this time, how to expand your job skills and navigate a possible job search, and how to access other helpful resources.

A similar webinar, hosted on October 23, drew nearly 500 attendees.
