ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - One person is dead after a hit-and-run around US-12 and Burr Oak Road, in Burr Oak Township.

Deputies responded to a reported unresponsive individual on the roadside at 7:09 a.m.

Emergency medical personnel arrived and determined that the victim, now identified as 21-year-old Kayden Gruver, was deceased.

Preliminary findings indicate that the victim was struck by a vehicle.

Investigators are asking the public for assistance in identifying the vehicle involved, believed to be a 2007-2015 GMC Sierra, or Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with front-end passenger side damage.

The Sheriff’s Office also asks anyone who had contact with Mr. Gruver on the evening prior to, or the morning of the incident, to please come forward.
