MADISON (WKOW) — The Yahara Coven hosted a whimsical paddle down the Yahara River on Sunday.
Participants gathered at the Tenney Park Pontoon Launch around 11 a.m., setting off on their journey at noon.
Spectators lined the banks and bridges to watch as the group made their way down the river. The event offered a unique sight as the coven formed a Magic Circle on Lake Monona, weather permitting.
Attendees dressed in witch costumes and brought paddleboards, paddles, PFDs, leashes, and candy to toss to children along the shore. The event welcomed witches of all kinds—and even other paddle craft—as long as they navigated carefully around the paddleboards.
“The underside of the bridges are the BEST for cackling,” the organizers joked, adding a playful touch to the festivities.
