JASPER, Ind. — The Indiana State Police announced on Saturday that K-9 "Barker" was found dead.
According to ISP, he died due to "unforeseen medical reasons." Police do not suspect any foul play,
Barker served as a dual-purpose K-9 as he was trained in patrol duties and narcotics detection. He assisted in many investigations, drug searches. suspect apprehensions and community demonstrations.
His partner, Trooper Jacob Lauer, developed a close relationship and ISP said it stands with Trooper Lauer during this difficult time.
