Nick Mangold wanted to live his life a lot longer than he got.
The former New York Jets All-Pro center died at the age of 41 on Saturday, the team announced on Sunday.
His tragic death had Rex Ryan crying uncontrollably live on ‘NFL Countdown.’ Ryan coached Mangold for six seasons while he was the head coach of the Jets.
Hours after it was announced that Mangold lost his life, it was revealed that Mangold died due to “complications” from kidney disease.
Mangold died on Saturday night after battling chronic kidney disease for nearly 19 years and was undergoing dialysis.
