LOG CABIN, Texas (KETK) - The Log Cabin Fire Department announced that they're closing at the end of October because of a lack of volunteers and funding.
"It is with great sadness that we announce our closing effective October 31, 2025," the Log Cabin Fire Department said. "For more than 40 years the members of the Log Cabin Fire Department have served the citizens of Log Cabin and the surrounding area with dignity, courage, pride."
The department cited a nationwide fall in volunteerism and the difficulty of operating on the "very little" funding they received as reasons for their closure.
