With the offense mired in a rut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New Orleans Saints turned to their rookie quarterback.
Tyler Shough entered the game in the third quarter with the Saints trailing 17-3, taking the place of starting quarterback Spencer Rattler.
Rattler led seven drives against Tampa Bay. He turned the ball over twice, fumbling on the opening possession and throwing a pick six two series later. The Saints' lone scoring drive with Rattler in the lineup Sunday came after Chase Young forced and recovered a fumble to set New Orleans up at the Tampa Bay 45.
Before he was pulled, Rattler completed 15 of his 21 passes for 136 yards. He was sacked three times and had a 68.8 rating.
