Oklahoma County officials brought court services on Friday to metro residents unable to make it to the courthouse. A judge and attorneys held court at The Homeless Alliance day shelter in downtown Oklahoma City.
Lack of resources
Oklahoma County public defenders said homeless citizens miss court due to a lack of resources. The warrant-clearing event will keep them out of jail.
"I think every community partner brings something special to the table," said Taylor Self, The Homeless Alliance.
This time, an Oklahoma County judge, public defenders and the District Attorney's Office brought the courtroom to the homeless. Citizens came in to clear their names of old charges.
"We are here clearing any type of low-level warrants that's misdemeanors no felony offenses," said Lauren Love, Oklahom
