The 2025 football season began two months and four days ago, on Aug. 22. That feels both like no time has passed and a lifetime has passed.

For the past 10 Friday nights, I’ve had the pleasure of gracing the sidelines of eight different Yuma County schools, taking photos and having conversations with the greatest football minds in Western Arizona.

Across those 10 weeks, I’ve covered 19 games, written at least 25 football-related articles and taken tens of thousands of pictures. It’s been one of my favorite seasons ever.

2025 is different because of the variety. No longer is YC the only playoff contender in the county. Gila Ridge is playoff-bound, and Cibola could be too if they knock off their crosstown rival this upcoming week.
