SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Springfield kicked off early Halloween celebrations as Wire Road Brewery hosted its Howl-O-Ween pup party on Sunday.

The event welcomed furry friends and their owners, offering beer specials, various vendors, and dog treats. The highlight was a dog costume contest with categories including best costume for small, medium, and large dogs; best matched with owner; and best group.

Beyond the festivities, the party also supported a good cause.

“A lot of people aren’t familiar with Have a Heart,” Cheryl Orr said. “So it’s to raise awareness. We’re out here so people can learn about our rescue, and just also really to just have some fun and maybe raise a little bit of money to help the dogs.”
