The purplish hue of the latest opinion poll from Bowling Green State University provides some hope that Ohio will have competitive political contests in 2026 and that the Republican candidates for president will have to fight to win this state in 2028.
It all depends on whether Democrats can move on from issues and agendas that turn off many traditional voters and try to identify with real voters’ interests.
With one year to go before the election, the leading Democratic candidates for governor and the U.S. Senate are within a few points among voters, according to this poll.
