NEW ORLEANS — From Canada to the Crescent City, frequent flyers say they’ve never seen the airport so crowded.
“I’ve never seen it that busy. I’ve been all over, and that was just crazy,” a traveler said.
Three weeks into the shutdown, some passengers are scrambling to make their flights.
“It’s in Tampa, it leaves in an hour. I just hope I can make it on time,” one traveler said.
A spokesperson for Louis Armstrong Airport said in a statement Sunday,
The airport continues to advise travelers to arrive two to three hours before departure.
“We’re here hours early because of this,” one traveler said.
For air traffic controllers and TSA agents, Sunday marked 26 straight days of working without pay.
